Gravity
A supernova created me, as I fell from the sky I fell into her eyes
It’s evolution of a kind, this digression in my soul is a black hole
And I can’t wait for tomorrow, when mercy covers wrath
But I can feel her sorrow, the weight is on my back
I will find the words to say, words that take me to another time
I will find the words to say, words that save me from this guilty crime
I want to fly into Your arms but this gravity is holding me down
I want to find in Your arms a peace that I have never known
I’ve got to run, I’ve got to leave but this gravity is holding me down
Come and release me, set my mind free, lift me up and let me go
Can you take me to place where angels watch over me and salvation is free
It seems the more I try to climb, the more I find I fall . . . I will crawl
And I can’t wait for tomorrow, when mercy covers wrath
But I can feel her sorrow, the weight is on my back
Fade Away
Sometimes I get so afraid, I’m paranoid by the things I say
I’ve been known to lose my way and that’s when I fall down and pray
Sometimes things get so messed up I start sinking in the mud
Then You reach down and pick me up, drain my head and fill my cup
Yeah, You fill me up . . .
I’m not myself today,
And I feel great
I’m in Your will today,
I’ve got it made
We’ve only got today,
One foot in the grave
Tomorrow comes, the sun will shine, and life goes on as we all fade away
Sometimes I get tossed around, I find my head inside a cloud
Well silence is the perfect sound when the peace of God you’ve found
Almost Home
One more mile to run and I’ll be home
One more hill to climb
Only now I’ve found that I’m not my own
I was made to shine
Almost home, I’m on my way
Almost home, see my face
Almost home, and I can’t wait
Another step, another stone, another sunset and I’ll be home
One more night awake and I’ll be there
One more storm to ride
I’ll forsake it all, I don’t care
Just to be with Christ
So Far
This dream, this feeling is something I would never wish to keep
It’s lame, it’s broken just the same, and everything I see is turning gray
It’s only just the start, it’s only just this work of art
The colors form to paint you how you are
Hanging on the wall, the best of you shines like a star
But I can see a trace of you that’s far . . .
So far away from what you are
What you’ve got is all I want
You shine like a billion quasars
But you shine in a galaxy so far away from here
Riddled by the sun, backed away from blades and guns
You’ve spoken to the angels more than once
Electric in your mind, a message from another time
Can shake you up and make you want to slide . . .
So far away . . .
Lead You There
It could’ve been me, it’s could’ve been you
It could’ve been anyone that you wanted it to
It could’ve been love, it could’ve been hate
It could’ve been the fire in her eyes, maybe fire in my brain
You never believed, so you never received
Never climbed so high that you fall to your knees
You never could trust what you never could see
You’ve never been to the cross, never felt the release
I will lead you there . . .
Isn’t this life, isn’t it real
Isn’t truth in your spirit better than the way that you feel
Now that you’ve come, now we’ll unite
We’ll run to the darkness and hold up the light
I will lead you there . . .
